Breaststroker Olivia Anderson was born on April 17, 1997 in Minnesota. She began swimming at age 8 with the Edina Country Club and then moved on to the successful Aquajets Swim Team to pursue the sport on a year-round basis. Anderson first competed on the national level at the 2010 Junior National Championships. She swam a 2:36.68 in the 200 meter breast at that year's summer Junior Nationals. At the 2011 NCSA Junior National Championships Anderson recorded a time of 1:04.21 in the 100 yard breast and a 29.44 in the 50 yard breast. Anderson qualified for the 2012 US Olympic Trials by swimming a 1:11.90 in the 100 meter breast at the 2012 Spring Junior National Championships. However, she did not progress out of the prelims at the Olympic Trials. Anderson attends Edina High School in Edina, Minnesota. In 2013, Anderson's junior year, she became a three-time Minnesota High School State Champion in the 100 yard breast with a time of 1:01.88. She successfully defended her 2011 and 2012 titles. 2013 was a banner year for Anderson.
