The University of Florida men’s and women’s swimming & diving teams head to Austin, Texas, for a matchup against Texas and Indiana.
Florida freshman Leah Braswell stormed to a 9:54.36 in the women’s 1000, beating out teammate Taylor Ault (sophomore), who went 10:00.38.
Alabama’s Zane Waddell won four individual events en route to swimmer of the week honors, while Florida’s Mabel Zavaros picked up six individual wins en route to women’s accolades.
Zavaros smoked the 200 fly with a 1:58.75, notching an NCAA ‘B’ cut in the process.
Primarily a butterflier, she’s incredibly versatile, and clocked wins in the 200 back (1:56.88) and 400 IM (4:16.37).
Rooney posted a very strong 47.87 100 fly win, while Mabel and Rosie Zavaros won a combined four events on the women’s side.
