JOB DESCRIPTION
Palo Alto Stanford Aquatics (PASA), Alpine Hills Site, is currently seeking coaches who will begin Fall 2015.
Part-time positions are available with regularly scheduled weekday commitments and monthly weekend commitments. Candidates must demonstrate strong work ethic and communication skills. Candidates should be passionate about the sport of competitive swimming, be team players and be motivated to have a positive influence on young people.
An Assistant Coach is the member of the staff who shall support Lead Coaches by running practices, planning training, attending competitions. Part-time assistant coaches may expect to be on deck up to 5 days per week one-two days at monthly competitions.
A Lead Coach is a member of the staff who shall oversee the development of training and competitive skills of swimmers. Each group will have an active roster of 10-35 swimmers. A Lead Coach should plan on 5-10+ hours of on-deck coaching per week and the possibility of attending 1 weekend competition per month. A Lead Coach will be responsible for seasonal, weekly and daily planning. There will be additional coaching and teaching opportunities with this role. Compensation based on experience and qualifications. All groups train year-round with a scheduled break in August.
A Swim Instructor will provide Private and Semi-private instruction for swimmers of all ages, from learn-to-swim to competitive athlete. Three days per week, late morning until mid-afternoon. In-water teaching expected for young learners. Compensation based on experience and qualifications.
Other responsibilities for members of the coaching staff include, but are not limited to: dryland instruction, website management, event hosting, regularly scheduled staff meetings, regularly scheduled communication the team and individual groups via email, record-keeping, meet hosting, Zone and LSC representation, and more.
