Simonas Bilis Claims Record at Lithuania SC Nationals

Sophomore Simonas Bilis of the NC State swimming & diving team set a new championship meet record in the 200 freestyle on Thursday at the Lithuania Short Course National Championships.

Bilis, a native of Panevezys, Lithuania, captured the 200 freestyle event with a time of 1:46.63, finishing first of 12 swimmers in the final.

This season, Bilis owns the second-fastest time on the squad in the 200 freestyle with a 1:39.40 clocking.

The Wolfpack will resume its season on Saturday, Jan. 4 at Georgia, beginning at 2 p.m.
