WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

HOW IT HAPPENED
Aurem Pifarre earned the first win of the night with a 10:42.94 time in the 1000-yard freestyle. She also won the 100-yard butterfly at 2:15.89.
In the 200-yard individual medley, Anna Bernasconi finished in first at 2:13.22.
Oksana Horova picked up a win in the 50-yard freestyle, clocking in at 25.03. Later, she won the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:00.27.
Maura Rubio, Taylor Weth, Laryssa Webster and Anna Bernasconi won the 200-yard medley relay at 1:51.16.
In the 100-yard butterfly, Bridget Kurtzweil snagged first with a time of 1:01.31. The sophomore also won the 200-yard breaststroke at 2:28.88.
Sara Turner topped the podium in the 500-yard freestyle at 5:11.75.
Individually, Rubio won the 100-yard backstroke, finishing with a time of 59.89.
Bernasconi also won the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:09.13.
Kathryn Tanis finished first in the 100-yard freestyle, clocking in at 55.38.
Baily Trettel earned first place in the 200-yard backstroke at 2:15.83.
To conclude the meet, Reegan Brown, Katie Webster, Tanis and Horova won the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:40.89.

Saint Francis will take part in the Western PA Invitational on Jan. 31 and Feb. 1, hosted by Carnegie Mellon.

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven women’s swimming team hosted Saint Francis in a non-conference dual meet inside Zimmerli Gym on Friday night (Jan. 24).
The Red Flash won the meet, 212-39.
For Lock Haven, sophomore Alaina Cane gave The Haven momentum early on, finishing first in the 100-yard freestyle trial with a time of 56.60.
Cane had a big afternoon, also finishing one second behind first place in the 100-yard freestyle, beating her previous time (56.56).
The quartet of Cane, Holly Cleworth, Makenzie Eades and Sydney Houck came in second (1:56.74) during the 200-yard medley relay.
Madison Bortner had two top-three finishes, finishing third in the 200-yard freestyle (2:07.06) and the 500-yard freestyle (5:50.45).
Maria Painter finished third in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:06.38.
Houck had a strong showing in the 100-yard breaststroke, with a time of 1:11.58.
Cleworth finished third (1:05.20) in the 100-yard backstroke.
In the final 200-yard freestyle relay, the tandem of Houck, Cane, Cleworth and Marisa Gachette finished third (1:46.08).

The Bald Eagles conclude the 2024-25 regular season by visiting Kutztown tomorrow (Saturday, Jan. 25) at 2 p.m. in non-conference action.
The Haven kicks off postseason action by competing in the four-day Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championship meet in York, Pa. at the Graham Aquatic Center, beginning Monday, Feb. 17.
