Princeton Earns Commitment from Aussie Sprinter Ela Noble

Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Ela Noble, a sprint freestyler from Brisbane in Queensland, Australia, has committed to Princeton University for 2020-21. Noble swims for Rackley Swim Team and specializes in the 50 and 100 meter freestyles. At last spring’s 2019 Australian Age Championships, she earned a bronze medal in the Women LCM 50 Free, 16 Years with 25.68. She also swam the 100/200 free, earning a PB in the latter. Her best 50 time comes from a relay leadoff at the same meet. Noble represented Australia at the 2019 Commonwealth Youth Games where she took home the silver medal in the 50 free (25.97).

LCM times (converted):

  • 50 free – 25.61 (22.35)
  • 100 free – 57.22 (50.10)
  • 200 free – 2:07.75 (1:52.20)

Princeton women won the 2020 Ivy League swimming and diving title after a four-year drought that saw Harvard claim three team titles and Yale, one. The Tigers swept all six freestyle events, thanks to freshmen Ellie Marquardt (500/1000/1650) and Nikki Venema (50/100/200), who ended the Ivy League Championship Meet as two of the three High-Point Swimmers of the Meet with 96 points each. Noble’s best converted time would have won the 50 free at 2020 Ivies and she would have added points to the Tigers’ total in the B final of the 100 free and the C final of the 200 free. She will join the youngest and deepest sprint group in the League and will overlap three years with sprinters Venema, Sarah Grinalds, Amelia Liu, and Christina Bradley, the freshman quartet that won the 200 free relay.
