Ohio State Swim Clubbers Add Medley NAG Record to Earlier Mark in 200 Free Relay

The Ohio State Swim Club 10 & unders weren’t satisfied with their National Age Group Record from Saturday at the 2014 Ohio LC Junior Olympics in the 200 free relay.

They wanted more, and with only two relay options available for 10 & unders, that meant the 200 medley relay. In their first attempt, during the regular competition, the girls came up just shy in 2:19.62. In a time trial on Sunday though, the last day of the meet, they just ducked under, going a 2:19.25 for the win.

The four swimmers in the medley were the same as the four in the free relay, but with a different order for medley considerations.

  • Riley Huddleston (35.07 – backstroke)
  • Martina Peroni (41.19 – breaststroke)
  • Ava Lachey (32.86 – fly)
  • Hannah Routh (30.13 – free)

The lead-off and anchor legs Huddleston and Routh were the difference from the first shot to the second, as they improved from the previous attempt

75% of the 10 & under National Age Group relay records now reside in the state of Ohio.
