CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The Miami Hurricanes swept a tri-meet at the Whitten Pool Friday, opening Homecoming weekend on the University of Miami campus with wins over visiting Rutgers and SMU.
Miami topped SMU, 165-114, and bested Rutgers, 194-84, to improve to 3-0 on the season in head-to-head competitions.
Miami enjoyed success in the early stages of the meet, with Giulia Carvalho winning the 50-yard freestyle (22.24) and freshman Ashlyn Massey blazing her way to a win in the 200-yard butterfly (1:57.40).
In the 100-yard breaststroke, Emma Sundstrand took first place (1:01.59) to continue momentum.
Miami had two of the top three swims in the 100-yard backstroke, coming from second-place finisher Tayla Jonker (54.18) and third-place finisher Mary Kate Kelley (54.19).
Freshman Marissa Inouye won the 200-yard freestyle (1:46.63) and veteran Adrianna Cera was second in the 1,000-yard freestyle (9:55.71), narrowly missing out on the top finish behind SMU’s Mira Szimcsak (9:55.53).
Miami secured the top two finishes in the 100-yard butterfly from Carvalho (52.83) and Massey (53.75), and Inouye picked up her second individual win – this time in the 500-yard freestyle (4:45.64). Carvalho went on to add another win in the 100-yard freestyle (48.89).
Kelley added to Miami’s point total with a win in the 200-yard backstroke (1:57.07) in the back half of the meet to help secure the victory.
Miami continues its season on Fri., Nov. 1 with a dual meet at Yale. Action is set to begin at 4 p.m. from New Haven, Conn.

CORAL GABLES, Fla. (SMU) – SMU Women’s Swimming & Diving won against Rutgers and fell to No. 24 Miami in its double dual meet at Coral Gables, Friday. The Mustangs recorded three individual victories in the double dual meet split.

In the first event of the meet, SMU’s 200 medley relay squad of Jimena Leal, Isabella Krantzcke, Tiffanie Ruan and Madison Parker placed second with a time of 1:41.20.
SMU’s squad of Rachel Anderson, Carlotta Scarpitti, Isabella Bedoya and Madeleine Hebert touched the wall in 1:44.32 to place fifth.
1000 Free
Mira Szimcsak won the 1000 free with the sixth-fastest time in Mustangs history and a personal best time of 9:55.53. Hannah Lockyer placed sixth with a time of 10:42.12.
200 Free
Teia Salvino placed third in the 200 free in 1:48.62 followed by Madeleine Hebert at fourth with a time of 1:49.95.
100 Back
Jimena Leal claimed victory in the event by touching the wall in 54.10. Rachel Anderson finished sixth with a time of 56.17 followed by Olivia Lind at ninth in 58.02.
100 Breast
Isabella Krantzcke clocked 1:03.55 to place fourth in the 100 breast. Hannah Lockyer touched the wall in 1:06.73 to place seventh.
200 Fly
Mira Szimcsak finished fourth with a season-best time of 2:01.81. Carlotta Scarpitti placed eighth with a 2:04.03 mark.
50 Free
Madison Parker swam a personal record time of 22.70 to finish runner-up in the event. Teia Salvino placed third with a 23.05 mark, Isabella Bedoya placed fifth in 23.32 and Tiffanie Ruan placed eighth with a time of 23.92.
Lauren Priest clocked a time of 25.35 in an exhibition swim.
3-Meter Diving
Jaclynn Fowler placed fourth in the 3-meter with 273.00 points followed by Reagan Evans with 256.30 points in fifth place. Sadie Klepfer scored 231.25 points to finish seventh while Ava Andersen placed ninth by scoring 215.55 points.
100 Free
Madison Parker renewed another personal record by finishing second in the 100 free with an NCAA B Cut time of 48.98. Teia Salvino placed third with a time of 50.40, followed by Isabella Bedoya at fourth with a 50.48 mark and Summer Osborne at fifth with a time of 50.61.
200 Back
Rachel Anderson clocked a time of 1:58.43 to place third and Jimena Leal touched the wall in 1:59.42 to place fourth. Olivia Lind placed 10th with a time of 2:07.99.
200 Breast
Isabella Krantzcke finished fifth in the 200 breast after clocking 2:20.12 and Hannah Lockyer came in seventh with a time of 2:24.08.
500 Free
Mira Szimcsak placed runner-up in the event with a 4:51.44 mark and Madeleine Hebert placed fourth with a time of 4:54.17. Olivia Lind finished 11th after touching the wall at 5:32.43.
100 Fly
Tiffanie Ruan finished eighth in the 100 fly with a time of 57.61, followed by Carlotta Scarpitti at ninth by recording a mark of 58.15.
Lauren Priest clocked 1:02.14 on an exhibition swim.
1-Meter Diving
Jaclynn Fowler placed third and scored an NCAA Zones Qualifying dive with 289.30 points. Sadie Klepfer scored 249.50 points to place sixth, Reagan Evans placed eighth with 221.30 points and Ava Andersen placed ninth with 212.60 points.
200 IM
Rachel Anderson finished runner-up in the 200 IM with a time of 2:03.57 while Carlotta Scarpitti placed fourth after touching the wall in 2:06.12. Isabella Krantzcke finished sixth with a 2:07.89 mark.
400 Free Relay
The Mustangs closed the meet on top by winning the 400 free relay. SMU’s quartet of Madison Parker, Summer Osborne, Isabella Bedoya and Teia Salvino clocked a time of 3:18.63.

MIAMI, Fla. – The Rutgers women’s swimming & diving team picked up 10 top three finishes, a pair of top 10 performances and four NCAA zone scores in diving in the Scarlet Knights’ first official dual meet of the year against No. 24 Miami and SMU on Friday morning at Whitten Center Pool.
No. 24 Miami topped Rutgers, 194-84, while SMU edged out the Scarlet Knights, 148-134.
FROM THE POOL DECK |
- Sophomore Sofia Bartoloni captured the top time in the 200 breast dropping 4.67 seconds off her previous best to capture the eighth fastest time in RU history in 2:15.10.
- Freshman Bailee Sturgill made her Scarlet Knights debut on the boards as the runner-up on 3M with the 10th highest score “On The Banks” and NCAA Zone score with a 319.05. Sturgill also picked up an NCAA Zone score on 1M as well.
- Also earning NCAA Zone scores were senior Holly Prasanto as runner-up on 1M and freshman Katerina Hoffman on 3M.
- Sophomore Elysha Pribadi totaled four top-three performances with runner-up finishes in the 100 and 200 breast and a third-place time in the 200 IM and with the 200 medley relay.
- Classmate Blanka Berecz was also a runner-up in the 200 fly.
SPRINTS |
- Sofia Bartoloni became the first Scarlet Knight of the season to capture a top 10 time and an individual event victory with her 200 breast swim (2:15.10). She topped her previous PR of 2:19.77 set in November of last season against Purdue & Oakland in the fourth meet of the 2023-24 campaign.
- Three of Elysha Pribadi’s four top three finishes were in individual events including runner-up in the 100 breast (1:01.80) and finishing just behind Bartoloni in second place, trailing by .12 seconds, in the 200 breast (2:15.22). The Jakarta, Indonesia native also took third in the 200 IM (1:43.63).
- RU also had a second-place time from Blanka Berecz in the 200 fly (2:00.49).
- Molly Urkiel helped the Scarlet Knights go 1-2-3 in the 200 breast touching in third (2:18.30).
DIVING |
- Freshman Bailee Sturgill dove her way into the Scarlet Knight record books in her RU debut on 3M. The Nobelsville, Indiana product totaled 319.05 marking the 10th highest score at Rutgers with a runner-up performance. Fellow freshman Katerina Hoffman placed third with an NCAA Zone qualifying score of 300.76.
- On 1M, the Scarlet Knights also captured a pair of NCAA Zone qualifying scores. Second team all-american Holly Prasanto began her senior season with a second-place score of 291.55 while Sturgill took fourth with an NCAA Zone qualifying mark of 285.45.
RELAYS |
- Rutgers’ 200 medley relay squad took third to open the meet. The team of Martyna Piekso, Elysha Pribadi, Ellie Schinsky and Brooke Thompson combined to clock in at 1:43.63.
