Kham Glass of Pearl, Mississippi has announced via social media that he will swim for Drury University next fall. He will join Chris McNew in the Panthers’ class of 2022.
“Excited to announce my verbal commitment to Drury University in Springfield, Mo. I’m thankful for my family, coaches, and friends for supporting me through my decision. #gopanthers”
Glass holds the Mississippi state high school record in the 100 back, which he originally set in the fall of 2016 with 50.51 then lowered to 49.72 this past October. Swimming for Brandon High School, he won both the 50 free and 100 back at the 2017 MHSAA Division II State Championships.
Glass swims year-round for Sunkist Swim Team. He competed in the 50/100 free and 100 back at 2017 Winter Juniors East, and went best times in both freestyles. Since then he has improved his PBs in the 50/100 free, 50/200 breast, 100 fly, and 200 IM at the Sunkist Winter Blast Invite, the MSI Short Course State Championships, and the PSS Atlanta.
Drury is a perennial leader among the Division II programs; the men’s swimming and diving team just finished sixth at the 2018 NCAA Division II Championships.

To make the rankings more accurate, I don’t think swimmers should be allowed to enter their times. Their coach(es) and/or the meet directors should be the only ones allowed by the system to enter times. That might not eliminate this problem completely but it would definitely reduce the likelihood of erroneous power rankings. Just a thought!
All of y’alls comments are completely pointless to the fact that if USA Swimming has times listed and are accurate. Second maybe this means CollegeSwimming shouldn’t be used when ranking swimmers if it has so many errors. Second, all of your comments failed to congratulate the Swimmer on his commit. Third, I think the articles intent is to highlight the swimmers choice of school and accolades through his Swimming journey.
With that being said I think taking your argument up with CollegeSwimming is best because SwimSwam doesn’t point out SCM times in this article and maybe just food for thought sense y’all pointed out the errors of the website then maybe DON’T USE THE SITE IF YOU KNOW ITS… Read more »
His college swimming account has short course METERS times that are WAY faster than his yards times… Is that an error on collegeswimmings part or is he much faster at meters? Regardless, if those are supposed to be scy it’s making his power score incorrect by about 10-15 points. https://www.collegeswimming.com/swimmer/516587/

It says his best time in SCM for the 50 free is 21.20 which converts to approximately an 18.94 in SCY.. that seems like a big difference.
Yeah according to USA swimming his best is a 24.96 SCM for the 50 free which makes much more sense. Still very fast and congratulations to him on his commitment!
I found the meet on MeetMobile where those SCM times were swam. The meet is indeed actually a yards meet. Must’ve been a mistake when entering the times. It happens.
I looked them up as well. It was a short course yards meet. He is listed with a 1.10 Power Index that probably should be in the 12-15 range at best. Similarly, Eien McGee, a Tennessee commit, listed as number 2 in Mississippi with a 1.79 Power Index, derives his ranking from erroneously classified short course meter swims from the 2017 NCSA Spring Championship. If you look up that meet on Meet Mobile, it was a short course yards meet. Both swimmers appear to have hand inputted their times as their respective meets did not post the results with College Swimming.
Seems to be a lot of issues on the College Swimming site lately especially with the boys; fake profiles, fake times, incorrect times, etc. all these errors negatively effecting the accurate rankings, state and nationally, and standings for the kids with correct and legit profiles and times.
I think the moderators of the site are pretty good about correcting errors if you point them out.
