Madi Wilson Talks 100/200 Free Double Victory in LA 2nd Place Team Finish

2021 INTERNATIONAL SWIMMING LEAGUE – SEASON 3, MATCH 5

Madison Wilson takes the win in the women’s 200 freestyle, which was expected. However, she also took the victory in the 100 free, just .09 ahead of Kasia Wasick after flipping 7th at the 50.

Madi Wilson has been killing it this year. Fantastic swimmer over 3 distances.

She’s certainly invented herself into a freestyler who would almost certainly be 1st or 2nd seed for any other country other than her own. Her move to Adelaide, and Peter Bishop, has paid higher than expected dividends

The format of ISL is ideal for someone of her characteristics. The signs were already present in 2019 where she was a consistent high place-getter (and most consistent performer) for the sub-par NYB. Very astute signing by Dave Marsh as she’s been “delivering” at every meet so far.

She is the same age as McKeon, and whilst not quite of THAT quality; it will be very interesting to see how her future plays out given both the level of AUS domestic competition in… Read more »
