My favorite part was when she said she was happy with the relay time but not the individual. In the relay she also didn’t go 55, and she had a relay start

I expect more from her, too.

Lilly, YOU are the reason Cody/Ian/Levi are crushing it right now! They NEVER want you to beat them!

It’s refreshing to see someone be candid about how they really were disappointed that they didn’t meet their goal.

I know Ray is VERY proud of you! Great Job!!

I get all of her points, and they’re totally reasonable for a swimmer as good as she is to make. There’s just something about the way she says them that makes it a bit more difficult to feel totally supportive of.

She definitely comes off a super arrogant, but this is obviously her way of continuing to focus and aim higher after doing nearly all she can in the sport. Also the lack of a cookie cutter interveiw is nice.

It’s embarrassing to win Ncaas and only beat your American record by only .05

Nobody got that I was quoting her from last year “embarrassing not to make an Olympic final”

I don’t get this comment re: this video. She is setting a high bar for herself and she’s disappointed she didn’t clear it. She was extremely complimentary to her team and to Simone. What sucks about that?

He’s a rick and morty fan so he’s clearly far more intelligent than any of us, allowing him to make such a well thought out comment. You simply need a higher IQ to really see the genius behind his commentary.

At this point there is no one who can beat her in this event. I don’t blame her for wanting more out of this than a win and possibly disappointing time drop. Remember, she’s chasing her own PR, she’s allowed to have high goals.
