CCA Marlins Head Age Group Coach

The CCA Marlins swim team (CCA), located in Roanoke, VA, is seeking applicants for a Head Age Group Coach. The Roanoke Valley is uniquely nestled among the Blue Ridge Mountains in southwestern Virginia. The position will include 25-30 hours on deck per week with practices held Monday through Friday evenings, Saturday mornings, and possibly some weekday mornings as well.

Responsibilities & Expectations:

• Represent CCA in a professional and mature manner at all times while adhering to all USA- Swimming and ASCA Code of Ethics and Conduct policies.
• Maintain all required credentials.
• Coordinate with the Team’s Head Coach to develop seasonal training plan for all 14 & under practice groups within the philosophy of the program.

Job Description:

This position will provide administration and oversight for successful management of all aspects of aquatics facility operations, as well as the planning, development and fulfillment of a comprehensive recreational programming which includes but is not limited to aquatics programming, club sports and intramurals.

Essential Functions:

• Daily supervision of aquatic facility and programs to ensure a safe environment for all users: includes routine and preventative maintenance; equipment setup/breakdown/repairs of timing systems, scoreboards, public address systems, etc.
• Manage varsity swimming and external events (as needed) as on-site administrator (requires evening and weekend work).
• Hire, train, direct and supervise professional staff, lifeguards, contractors, student employees, volunteers required to operate the facility, programs and events at the highest possible standards.
• Plan, staff, conduct and assess aquatics and recreation programs that foster a sense of community through inclusive participation and maximization of student engagement to support overall health and wellness.

• Works closely with Sports Medicine staff and team physicians to ensure the safety and health of student-athletes.
• Works closely with Sports Performance staff to develop a comprehensive sports performance program within a specific training group.
• Works with the Communications Department on all related matters to ensure the appropriate information is relayed to the social media, media, and community in an accurate and efficient manner.
• Assists the Cowboy Joe Club in fundraising activities/events.
• Develops a comprehensive and functional knowledge of the sport, and actively seeks to develop new performance methods and strategies.
• Maintains high ethical standards and practices.
• Maintains a thorough knowledge of and adheres to all applicable University, conference and NCAA rules and regulations.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree and/or equivalent education and experience
• Experience: Four or more years of NCAA Division I coaching experience
• Excellent written communication skills, as demonstrated in application materials.

• A working knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.

• Experience recruiting high school athletes and/or college transfer athletes.

Aquatex Swim Team in Round Rock, TX, is searching for an age-group coach to assist with our age group programs. The position is part time, 5 days a week and 3 hours per day. Meet coaching opportunities are also available. The anticipated start date is August 8th, 2022.

Responsibilities

Attend daily workouts and swim meets as assigned by the Head Coach
Work with the Head Coach to develop and implement seasonal, weekly, and daily training plans for the group
Teach and train the swimmers in proper stroke techniques and racing strategies as appropriate for the age and developmental level of the group
Develop and maintain healthy relationships with the swimmers and their parents
Participate fully in group practices including both dryland and in-water activities
Maintain daily attendance records for the group
Qualifications include:

Prior coaching or competitive swimming experience
Current in USA Swimming required certifications (CPR, Safety Training for Swim Coaches, Athlete Protection, Concussion Protocol Training, Background check, Coaches Advantage Training, Foundations of Coaching) or the ability to obtain the certifications.

We train at the Micki Krebsbach Pool, in Round Rock, TX. An 8-lane 25yd, outdoor pool, with 4 additional 20 yd lanes. 20 minutes from downtown Austin

ESA is a coach run program with approximately 250 swimmers, and is located in Atascocita/Humble, Texas (Northeast Houston). We have an outstanding age group team which ranked #40 in ASCA’s 2022 Top 100 Age Group Programs, and boasts 7 athletes ranking top 20 nationally. ESA’s age groupers placed 7th at our state short course age group championships (TAGS) this past spring. Requirements

• ASCA Level III or above.
• Must have (or obtain prior to being on deck) certifications in Adult & Pediatric/Child CPR and AED, as well as Safety Training for Swim Coaches (STSC).

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Responsible for developing our Age Group program swimmers (ages 5-14) to be ready to compete at the Jr & Sr Levels.
  • Develop and maintain a season plan for the Age Group Program that shows increased knowledge of the progression of our age group program and develops innovative techniques that show success and improvement. (This includes yardage and technique goals as well as how the group is being differentiated).
  • Responsible for writing a monthly report on the prior month’s success, needs for improvement, and goals for the next month.
• Work collaboratively with the head coach to develop and follow through on program goals to enhance a club that is consistently trying to meet its mission/vision while always trying to innovate.
• Assist Head coach as needed.
• Supervise swimmers in the pool area at all times.
• Responsible for helping maintain a safe atmosphere by adhering to all USA swimming rules and regulations and providing positive and constructive feedback to our swimmers and parents.
  • Must show an ability to work with and communicate well with all age group parents and athletes.
  • Greet, acknowledge, and interact with members at all times.
