POSITION: KING Aquatic Club, located in Federal Way, WA, is seeking qualified applicants for the position of HS Performance and Masters Coach. This position will work high school athletes as well as recreational-masters swimmers. This position reports directly to the Lead Age Group Coach and Head Coach, Jay Benner.
BACKGROUND: Established in 1966, KING Aquatic Club (KING) is a premier youth sports program in the Seattle-Tacoma Metropolitan area. KING is a USA Swimming year-round competitive swim team offering high quality professional coaching and technique instruction for swimmers of all ages and abilities. As a member club of Pacific Northwest Swimming and a USA Swimming Gold/Silver Medal Club, the goal of KING is to provide every member an opportunity to improve swimming skills and achieve success at his or her level of ability. From beginners to Olympians and everyone in between, we create an environment where excellence is inevitable and fun!
DUTIES: Establish and maintain relationships and open communication with swimmers and parents; Organize and manage daily practices Monday thru Friday (2 hours per day on deck). Enjoy working with teenagers and Masters swimming enthusiasts. You may need to be at a swimming meet up to twice per month, depending on the part of the season. Coaching must be done in a direction that supports the philosophy and direction of the team as established by the Head Coach, Jay Benner.
QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must possess integrity, strong communications skills; and a passion for helping swimmers maximize their potential. Swim Coaching Experience and USA Swimming certified (required); College Degree (preferred); and Competitive Swimming Experience (preferred).
COMPENSATION: $15/hour or salary, depending on qualifications and experience. There are opportunities to coach high school and summer league for additional income. Will be mentored by 30 year coaching veteran, PNS Hall of Famer, and multiple time USA Swimming staff member – Jay Benner, along with coaches & former Olympic athletes Svetlana Karpeeva and Milorad (“Milo”) Cavic!
