Waterloo Swimming is a USA Swimming Silver Medal swim club located in North Austin, TX. Currently operating out of two locations: one 50M Olympic-sized pool and one 25Y pool, WLOO is home to just over 450 athletes ranging from Olympic Trials qualifiers to beginning club swimmers. 

We are looking for an energetic, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable swim coach to direct and lead one of our middle school training groups. This group ranges in age from 11-14. The swimmers in this group are aiming to achieve BB and A times on the USA National Age Group Motivational Time Standards in multiple strokes and be competitive at the LSC Championship meet. 

Candidates should be prepared to demonstrate technique-driven processes in their practice writing and season plan as well speak about their experience in developing athletes, administrative work off-deck, and effectively communicating with athletes, parents, and staff. 

We believe the best coaches have had experience at all levels of our sport, and it is our goal to provide that education to our entire staff. Each WLOO coach has the opportunity to work with multiple groups in our program as well as take the lead on team projects such as meet management, clinic operations, parent education or new swimmer outreach to further help build their resumes.

As a Turtles coach, candidates should be focused on the developmental athletes and applicants must be enthusiastic, patient, focused on technique and making the sport fun. This position requires candidates to have excellent communication, teaching and people skills. Candidate will report to the Aquatics Supervisor and must be a team player. Candidate should be available 5-6 days a week in the evenings for practice and a few hours during the day for administrative duties

Club attends meets frequently which will require assistance in running of while athletes are not participating. Club averages 2 meet every month.

Qualifications/expectations:
Candidates must be a USA Swimming coach in good standing as well as a minimum of 3 years competitive coaching experience. Ability to work late afternoons and early evenings is a must. Experience using Teamunify and Meet Manager is preferred. This position must obtain necessary certifications: coaches safety training, CPR & First Aid, background check, and athlete protection training prior to start date. Southwestern University seeks candidates for the position of Assistant Men’s & Women’s Swimming & Diving Coach. This position will serve as the Assistant of the Men’s & Women’s Swimming & Diving Coach program and provide outstanding leadership in support for Southwestern University students. This individual may potentially teach ESS or Fitness and Recreation Activities (FRA) program. This is a 12-month, full-time, exempt position with benefits.

Primary Duties:

Provide skill instruction and conditioning work consistent with a high-performing NCAA Division III varsity athletic program.

Recruit and retain highly talented athletes who also have the academic acumen to thrive at Southwestern University.

Participate in fundraising activities to support program objectives.

Comply with all University, conference, and NCAA policies, procedures, and by laws.

Mentor University students by modeling professionalism and high moral standards.

Support classroom excellence by utilizing all available University resources in support of students.

Serve as an Administrator in Charge (AIC) of select University events.

Participate on campus committees as requested.

Instructor for ESS or FRA classes if qualified.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree

Demonstrate success in coaching or competing at a highly competitive level.

Certification in CPR and First Aid or willing to become certified with three months of hire.

Knowledge, understanding, and acceptance of cultural differences and the diversity within the campus and community.

Preferred Position Requirement:

Knowledge and experience in Collegiate or professional playing in the sport.

Knowledge and experience in recruiting college-level varsity athletes.

Job Description:
The ideal candidate will be passionate about working with students to develop summer swimming expertise. The camp’s pool facilities include an outdoor pool as well as an Olympic sized indoor pool.

Key Responsibilities:

Teach a variety of swimming courses during the summer session. Class sizes typically average 5-8 students.
Test water quality and coordinate with our maintenance team for outdoor pool maintenance.
Support after school programming and ensure the effective operation of the outdoor pool
Plan and execute an end of the summer “Swim Olympics” for students and faculty

Hours:

Monday through Thursday from 7:45 AM to 4:40PM
Friday 7:45 AM to 3:00PM
Four weekend shifts date of your choosing to be compensated separately at $130/ shift.

As Upper Valley Aquatic Center’s Aquatics Director, you will manage lifeguard teams, maintain safety standards, and coordinate pool schedules and events providing appropriate lifeguard coverage, as needed.

The facility is a 25 yard X 25 meter pool 11 lanes X 10 lanes, off deck seating for 400, separate teach pool with 3 lanes 25 yards and lazy river with slides and fountains.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and continuously improve creative and challenging programs, classes, and events.
  • Schedule, promote, and maximize the profitability of the Red Cross Lifeguard Training and other classes.
  • Develop and manage operating expense and budget.
  • Assist the facilities department with seasonal repair and maintenance issues
  • Maintain all health, safety, and legal requirements from the standards established by OSHA, state, and local health department codes/ordinances.
  • Maintain the proper pool chemical balances, filtration, and water quality in accordance with state and local health department codes.
  • Maintain safety/rescue equipment in satisfactory working condition. Repair or replace broken or worn-out equipment.
  • Conduct a weekly inspection of pool, deck, walls, and equipment.
  • Maintain fully stocked first-aid kits, CPR masks and blood spill kits.
  • Perform CPR/AED certifications and re-certifications for UVAC staff as necessary.
  • Conduct In-service training sessions for all aquatic staff
  • Hiring, training, and oversight of all Lifeguard and Red Cross instructor staff
  • Coordination of pool schedules and events and providing appropriate lifeguard coverage as needed.

Education and Experience:

  • Must hold several of the following certifications: Certified Pool Operator, Water Safety Instructor; Lifeguard Training; Standard First Aid, AED and CPR; waterpark/waterfront certifications.

Physical and Schedule Requirements:

  • Assume some manager-on-duty shifts as assigned by management.
  • A mix of days, nights, weekends, and holiday
