  4. Responsible for the behavior, discipline, and actions of athletes during practices, competitions, and other organized team activities.

Qualifications:
• Minimum of 5 years of coaching experience; Level 3 coaching certification preferred.

The Wahoo’s Head Coach is responsible for carrying out all functions related to the successful program implementation of the Wahoo swim team groups he/she is assigned to.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Coaching

  • Develops a seasonal plan for dryland and pool.
  • The Head Coach must arrive 10-15 minutes prior to assigned practices and be appropriately dressed.

  • Supports the team’s overall fundraising projects.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Adheres to policies and procedures related to boundaries with youth, managing high-risk activities and supervising youth.

The Pacifica Sea Lions Aquatic Club (PSL) seeks a highly qualified individual for the position of Head Swim Team Coach. 

PSL is a local, community-focused club with 160 USA Swimming registered swimmers training and competing under the Pacifica Sea Lions name as one of Northern San Mateo County’s most successful and established competitive swim teams with over 60 years of tradition and history. PSL is a year-round competitive program that offers opportunities for all levels of swimmers. The team supports a broad range of swimmers, from the 6-year-old beginner to the 18-year-old National Qualifier. Our mission at the Pacifica Sea Lions is to inspire our members to achieve their maximum swimming potential through high-quality coaching and self-motivation with the goal of team unity in a safe and supportive environment for all.

Our highly-trained and qualified coaching professionals guide each swimmer’s career from entry-level to National competition. We focus on training the whole athlete, including mental and emotional health, dryland exercise (which includes injury prevention routines and strength & conditioning circuits), training and racing strategies, and a strong emphasis on technical proficiency in the water. A primary focus is teamwork and building a strong sense of community in a safe environment.  

Our team trains in the Jean E. Brink Pool, a 10-lane, 25-yard short-course indoor aquatics facility located at Oceana High School in Pacifica, California. PSL hosts multiple competitions per year with the support of its family volunteers. The head coach must be dedicated to sustaining and strengthening our high-performance and comprehensive swim program by cultivating excellence in athletes in the pool and in their lives.

BASIC FUNCTIONS – HEAD COACH

  • Promotes and encourages a positive, progressive, inclusive, supportive, and winning culture while being a pervasive leader, serving as the Head Coach for the entire team.
  • Staffs and assigns assistant coaching staff as appropriate to all practices, team events, and competitions.
  • Serves as the primary PSL coaching point of contact for team coaches, the PSL member community, Zone 1 North, Pacific Swimming, and USA Swimming.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and organized senior/ age group coach with the expertise to direct and lead some of our top 13-14 swimmers and other senior or age group swimmers at one of our sites. This coach will be working directly with our Head Age Group Coach and Site National Team Coach to establish technically efficient swimmers. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Run and assist with 2-3 training groups per day that match up with the candidate’s experience.  
  • Attend 1-2 swim meets a month. 
  • Oversee athlete progression and coach mentorship in all competitive groups at the site. 
  • Assist coaching staff with administrative duties relating to the site or team as well as interactions with parents. 

Minimum Qualifications:

The Cincinnati Aquatic Club is a medium size USA Swimming team with around 170 swimmers (ages 7-18). We are looking for a lead coach for our competitive ages 9 to 11.

This position is designed to lead our competitive age group for ages 9 to 11 for Cincinnati Aquatic Club. The coach will work closely with the head age group coach to carry out the vision, values, and behaviors of Cincinnati Aquatic Club through long term development, leadership, and following through with the age group progression plan. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

– Develop season plans for the assigned swim group.
– Provide consistent, quality, engaging, individualized instruction & feedback to help with the long term development of each athlete.
– Planning and running in water workouts for 30-35 swimmers ages 9-11.
– Assisting in coaching groups assigned by the Head Coach.
– Handle administrative details such as, weekly parent communication, meet entries for the assigned practice group.
– Attend and Coach all swim meets for perspective group(s).
– Assist in coaching morning and afternoon/evening practices as assigned by the Head Coach.

– Work collaboratively and respectfully with all coaches, staff, and team leaders to serve in the best interest of the team and its members.

Experience:
– All USA Swimming Coaching Requirements or the ability to obtain these certifications before starting the job.
– A minimum of 3 years of coaching experience at the USA Swimming/YMCA club level.

  • Responsible for developing our Jr & Sr group program swimmers (ages 13-18 – A swimmers & above) to be ready to compete at the State, Sectional, National & Collegiate levels
    • Develop and maintain season and quadrennial plans for the Sr Group that shows increased knowledge of the progression of our age group program and develops innovative techniques that show success and improvement. (This includes yardage and technique goals as well as how the group is being differentiated).
    • Responsible for writing a monthly report on the prior month’s success, needs for improvement, and goals for the next month.
  • Responsible for attending important Gulf Meetings such as House of Delegates, Board of Directors, and Technical Planning meetings and sharing the information on how it impacts ESA.
