As the TAC Associate Aquatics Director, the successful candidate will be accountable for leading team-oriented efforts to build a highly functional and dependable water safety and programming team. The TAC water safety team consists of American Red Cross certified Lifeguards, Lifeguard Instructors, Aquatics Supervisors, Team Leaders, Learn-to Swim Instructors, and other personnel as necessary to operate and program our aquatics facilities. Establishing and maintaining a culture of teamwork, customer service and water safety is of the utmost importance to the success of the TAC Associate Aquatics Director.

The TAC Associate Aquatics Director should be able to work a flexible schedule and will be required to “inspect what they expect” when it comes to managing their water safety and programming team members.

General Job Requirements
• Manage, Coach, and ensure the highest level of customer service is provided consistently to customers.
• Maintain and improve upon TAC Programming revenue generation and profitability.
• Explore, business plan and implement as effective future programming initiatives including “TITANS Learn to Swim Camps.”
• Develop and maintain a positive employee culture at TAC.
• Uphold Gold Medal Promise and model to all TAC team members, members, swimmers, and guests.
• Team Up with and support the TAC TITANS in all their endeavors.
• Make consistent progress towards “Aquatics Director” position, including but not limited to self-education and
exploration of: Customer service personnel management, Event and event personnel management, General
facility and facility personnel operations management.

Specific Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Oversee the hiring, training, scheduling, and managing all water safety and aquatics programming team
members.
• Manage TAC Programming, including TITANS Learn to Swim, Certification Classes and Fitness Classes.
• Manage TAC Programs Manager position.
• Developing a positive team culture amongst the water safety and aquatics programming staff members.
• Conduct in-service training sessions as required to maintain water safety skills and readiness.
• Manage all water safety and aquatics programming team members to provide consistently high levels of
customer service to patrons.
• Work directly with facility maintenance personnel to ensure that the water safety team assists as needed with
facility maintenance and cleanliness tasks.
• Manage TAC Programming (TITANS Swim Academy, Certification Courses, and Senior Fitness) to maintain net
revenue expectations and quality assurance.
• Manage all programming registrations in TAC’s registration system alongside the Program Manager and
Customer Service Manager.
• Oversee the aquatics leadership team to ensure daily operations of facility are met. This will include the following but not limited to it: CPO (Certified Pool & Spa Operator) daily checks, cleaning tasks, employee certifications, event set up & staffing needs, pool configurations, facility set up needs, staff uniforms, first aid supplies, lifeguard cleaning supplies and equipment, certification equipment and supplies, slack communication platform, etc.
• Conduct and lead meetings with Program Manager, aquatics leadership, and camp leadership (when
applicable).
• Lead weekly staff meeting on a rotation basis with fellow leaders.

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification Required
• American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor Certification Required (progress on obtaining certification must occur within 120 days of employment)
• APSA Certified Pool & Spa Operator (CPO) Certification Required
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Background or knowledge of competitive swimming
• Available to work a mixed schedule, including nights and weekends as needed.
• Managerial Experience
• Intermediate level of basic computer literacy required.
• Highly organized, punctual and results oriented.
• Ability to work independently to build and manage team culture.

Experience:
• 5 Years Management Experience Required
• 5 Years Water Safety Experience Required
• Competitive Swimming Experience Encouraged
• Wake County Public School System experience and/or knowledge preferred.

Compensation:
• Base Annual Salary $65,000 – $70,000
• Annual (9/1/24 – 8/31/25) Bonus = 5% of base salary
• Salary to be reviewed on 8/31/2025 and every 12 months after 8/31/2025.
