Bishop O’Connell High School is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our athletics department as an Assistant Varsity Swim Coach. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with student-athletes, helping them develop their skills, achieve their athletic goals, and foster a strong sense of teamwork and sportsmanship.
Responsibilities:
Assist the head coach in all aspects of planning, organizing, and conducting swim practices and competitions.
Provide individualized coaching and feedback to student-athletes to enhance their technical skills and performance.
Collaborate with the coaching staff to develop training programs tailored to the needs and abilities of the team.
Promote a positive and inclusive team culture that prioritizes sportsmanship, discipline, and academic success.
Serve as a mentor and role model for student-athletes, offering guidance and support both in and out of the pool.
Uphold the values and standards of Bishop O’Connell High School and the athletics department at all times.
Qualifications:
CPR/AED, First Aid certification preferred
Previous experience as a competitive swimmer and/or coach preferred.
Strong knowledge of swimming techniques, training methods, and competition strategies.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively motivate and inspire student-athletes.
Commitment to fostering the academic and personal development of student-athletes.
Ability to work collaboratively with the coaching staff, athletics department, and school community.
Willingness to adhere to all school policies and regulations regarding athletics and student welfare.
