Jimmy Feigen released this statement:

Very grateful to the University of Texas for taking me this far with my swimming career. They have worked wonders for me, but I’m excited to start a new chapter with SwimMAC. I’ve been looking for a good environment to further my professional sprint career and to be involved in a professional team surrounded by individuals with similar aspirations as myself.

After a successful NCAA career at the University of Texas, Feigen roared onto the international scene, first winning a gold medal as part of the men’s 4×100 freestyle relay at the 2012 London Olympics, as well as at the 2012 Short Course World Championships. Feigen followed that up with his first individual major championships gold, winning the 100m freestyle at the 2013 World Championships.

Feigen has been fairly quiet since, however, still training with Longhorn Aquatics while putting on Fitter and Faster swim clinics around the country.  Most recently Feigen swam at the 2015 Bill Nixon Memorial meet where he clocked the fastest 100m free time (49.67) and the second-fastest 50m free time (23.34).  Feigen will represent the USA in the 100m freestyle and 4x100m freestyle relay in Kazan next week at the 2015 FINA World Championships.

The SwimMAC Elite crew is ripe with talent, already having mega stars Ryan Lochte, Tyler Clary, Kirsty Coventry and Micah Lawrence, among others, calling the team home.

i don’t think David Marsh is recruiting… It appears swimmac’s results recruit for themselves. I heard they have a waiting list and have turned away Olympians and other contenders that just don’t mesh with the culture. David is allegedly SUPER picky with who he allows on team elite. Probably why they’re so good.

Where was he training between the Barcelona worlds and now ? Certainly regressed considerably in that time so the move will serve him and the relay team well.

David Marsh is one heck of a recruiter.

Interesting move.
He should have done it last year but it’s never too late.
It looks like all American sprinters want to go at SwimMAC right now.

Feigen’s got a great base from Eddie. Marsh will add power, and power will come from racing the big boys at SwimMAC Team Elite.

I would agree with that statement about base with Eddie……but don’t think Jimmy went to practice enough to get the backround

That sounds to be a wise move – because i know he has huge potential to be a way more consistent super 100 freestyler . Well done Jimmy , working with Jones , Clary , Lochte and the elite group there will surely be beneficial .
Dear Loretta , Jimmy never won the 100 free in Barcelona but won the silver medal in front of Nathan Adrian . As well as he didn’t get any Gold medal for being part of the 400 free relay in London .I didn’t intend to sound like a specialist but it felt necessary to inform u about some important corrections about his carrer wins . Thanks for your understanding .

Feigen has yet to win any gold. Silver for the relay in London, and silver in Barcelona.

Came here to say that same thing. Magnussen won the 100m at Worlds in 2013 and France won the 4×100 at the Olympics in 2012.
