Serbian swimming standout Dorotea Bukvic has committed to Indiana State for this coming season.
I am incredibly happy that I am becoming a part of the swim team at Indiana State University and that I will be fighting for a team that’s being led by a fantastic coach like Joshua. I am very thankful for my family and all those who participated in my growth as a swimmer. Furthermore, I would like to thank my friends who helped me to make this important decision in my life. I am convinced that I did the right thing by coming to Indiana State!

Bukvic has represented Serbia on the international stage, the highest competition being the 2019 World Junior Championships. She raced the 50 breast, 100 breast, 200 breast and 200 IM at World Juniors two years ago in Budapest, finishing 29th in the 200 IM. In 2019, she also raced at the European Junior Championships, and she did the same in 2018.
Based on her converted times, Bukvic would’ve been Indiana State’s top 200 breaststroker last season by about six seconds. She also would’ve led the team in the 100 breast. At the 2020 MVC Championships, Bukvic’s converted 200 breast would’ve also won the conference title, while she would’ve made the 100 breast A-final.
Bukvic joins Alexa Szadorski, Elle Gilkerson, Trista Bullock and Olivia DiRuzza in Indiana State’s class of 2025.
