BOCA RATON, FLA. – The FIU swimming and diving program wrapped up the dual-meet portion of the season, taking down AAC foe Florida Atlantic, 173-126, on Saturday morning from the FAU Aquatic Center.
On the morning, the Panthers racked up 10 victories including sweeping both relay events and the 1-meter event from Boca Raton.
A total of four Panthers claimed first-place in the individual events led by senior Christie Chue with three top finishes including a relay win. Chue paced the team in the 200-medley relay (28.66), while logging wins in the 200-freestyle for a time of 1:52.08. The senior took the top spot in the 100-freestyle (51.53) and 200-IM with a finals time of 2:05.57.
Harliai Curthoys-Davies had a solid day in the pool with three top finishes including two first-place wins and a relay victory on the morning. The Adelaide, Australia native took first in the 1000-freestyle for a time of 10:29.53 then followed it up for a top finish in the 500-freestyle (5:06.30). Curthoys-Davies rang in for a relay win in the 400-freestyle (25.63).
Linnea Gipperth and Ingrid Huszar secured individual events as Gipperth recorded a time of 2:06.20 in the 200-backstroke while Huszar added a first-place finish in the 200-breaststroke (2:19.36). Huszar followed up with a second-place finish in the 100-breaststroke for a time of 1:04.38.
FIU dominated the pair of relays as the team of Chue, Oumy Diop, Jessica Shpilko, and Diana Santamaria placed first in the 200-medley relay (1:43.79) The team of Curthoys-Davies, Ana Luiza Daisson, Shpilko, and Santamaria closed out Saturday’s meet with a top finish in the 400-freestyle relay (3:28.92).
On the boards, FIU took home first in the 1-meter with Paige Burrell scoring first (289.65), while Ruska Lehtonen came in third for a score of 253.80. The Panthers placed second and third in the 3-meter as Mikaela Starr posted a NCAA Zone Cut (294.68) while Lehtonen came in third, scoring a 260.93.
UP NEXT
The diving team will head to Fort Myers to take on Florida Gulf Coast on Saturday, Feb. 3 at 12 p.m while the swimmers prepare for the AAC Championships that begins on Thursday, Feb. 22 from Dallas, Texas.

BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Florida Atlantic swimming & diving teams wrapped up their final meet of the regular season at the FAU Aquatic Center on Saturday morning.
It was a competitive rivalry meet between the FAU women’s team and FIU, while the Florida Atlantic men’s team prepped for conference with intersquad events.
QUICK HITS
- Amelia Robertson won the 100 back (58.33) and earned second in the 200 back (2:06.77)
- Bilu Bianchi captured the victory in the 100 breast (1:04.13)
- Dolores Margni swam to first in the 200 fly (2:04.98). The Owls also had the second-place finisher in Lauren Wright (57.73)
- Izzy Jones was victorious in the 50 free (23.81)
- Alicia Mora owned the diving boards, winning the 3-meter (338.78)
Conference time. The Owls will regroup for their respective conference championships: the men’s team will compete in their first ASUN Championships held in Knoxville from Feb. 21 – 24, while the women will gear up for their second American Athletic Conference Championships from Feb. 20 – 25.
