DirectTV Offering Free Trial of Universal Sports During National Championship Meet

As Mel posted earlier today, the 2013 USA Swimming National Championships and World Championship Trials will be broadcast live over the airwaves on two nights, Tuesday and Wednesday; on taped delay in two other time slots (Saturday afternoon and late Saturday night), and live on the web for free all week.

Universal Sports is not a widely subscribed network, which will leave a big gap in the only two live broadcast nights of the meet; sure, it can be watched on your computer screens, but if you’re looking for the big-screen experience, there’s hope for at least some fans.

DirectTV viewers are currently in the midst of a month-long free trial of the network (channel 625, to be precise) that will include the duration of the National Championships.

Neither Universal Sports nor DirectTV is paying us to promote this event; instead we’re hoping to get as many people in front of the TV for this meet as possible. The opportunity is there – don’t miss it!
