CLAREMONT, Calif. – The Pomona-Pitzer Swim & Dive program is proud to announce the hiring of Cori Meyette as the new assistant coach for the upcoming 2019-20 Swim & Dive season. Coach Meyette enters the program with a riches of experience in collegiate swimming.

“It feels great to hire Cori to Pomona-Pitzer,” said Head Coach Jean-Paul Gowdy. “Her successful track record of varsity swimming at San Diego State combined with club coaching and swimming locally at Brea Aquatics will bring so much to our program.  She is both competitive, humble and always looking for ways to get better.”

Meyette last coached at the club level for Brea Aquatics from 2018 to 2019, working with young swimmers in the city of Walnut, Brea, and the surrounding areas of the Orange County this past year. An alumna of San Diego State University, Meyette swam for four years with the Aztecs, racing primarily in the 500 and 1000 Yard Freestyle and has competed in the Mountain West Championship. She set the 8th-fastest time in Aztec history in the 400 IM at 4:19.89 and the 10th-fastest in the 1000 Freestyle at 10:12.46. She graduated from the program with a bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies.

A native of Chino Hills, California, Meyette attended and swam at Ruben S Ayala High School. She also competed with the Brea Aquatics Swim Club.
