Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Cupertino, California’s Davina Huang has announced her verbal commitment to the application process* at Harvard University for the fall of 2025.

“I am so excited to announce my commitment to the admissions process at Harvard University! A huge thank you to my family, friends, and coaches for their unwavering support. Go Crimson!!!”

Huang swims for Santa Clara Swim Club and Monta Vista High School. She placed 4th in the 100 fly and 7th in the 200 IM at the 2024 CIF Central Coast Championships in May, notching a PB in the fly (54.98) and a season-best time in the IM (2:04.81) in prelims. As a sophomore in 2023, she was 4th in both events (55.22/2:03.62) and went on to swim at the California State Championships where she came in 29th in the fly and 29th in the IM.

Also last spring, Huang swam at Novato Sectionals and Far Westerns in Morgan Hill. At Sectionals, she won the 200 fly and was 8th in the 200 IM. She also finaled in the 50/100 free and 200 breast and left the meet with new times in the 50/100 free and 200 breast. At Far Westerns, she placed 4th in the 200 fly (2:00.70) and 200 IM (2:03.13) and scored PBs in both events. She also improved her PB in the 100 back.

Last summer, she had an outstanding long course season, notching PBs in the 50/100/200/400/800 free, 200 back, 50/200 breast, 100/200 fly, and 200 IM. She earned US Open cuts in the fly events (1:01.09/2:14.79) and 200 IM (2:19.43).

Best SCY times:

  • 200 fly – 2:00.70
  • 100 fly – 54.91
  • 200 IM – 2:03.13

Huang will join the Crimson with Audrey Lee and Hazel Mouhidin. Her best times would have scored for Harvard in the B final of the 200 fly and the C finals of the 100 fly and 200 IM at 2024 Ivy League Women’s Championships.

*Note: A verbal commitment between an Ivy League coach and a prospective student-athlete is not an offer of admission, as only the Admission Office has that authority. The coach can only commit his or her support in the admission process. Ivy League Admission Offices do not issue “Likely Letters” before October 1 of the prospective student-athlete’s senior year of high school. The Likely Letter, while issued after an initial read of the student’s application, is not an offer of admission to the university.

If you have a commitment to report, please send an email with a photo (landscape, or horizontal, looks best) and a quote to [email protected].
