Kyle Coan
Born May 16, 1995 in Wisconsin, Kyle Coan was born to parents, John and Connie – Connie swam at the University of Texas and Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Coan is a freshman at the University of California, Berkeley, and was considered one of the best 200 freestylers in the 2014 recruiting class. After taking all five recruiting trips to Auburn, Tennessee, Michigan, and Florida, he decided Cal was the best fit. Although born in the north-central U.S., Coan attended Los Osos High School in Rancho Cucamunga, Calif. Early on in high school he was training more toward mid-distance, but is now focused on events in the 100-200 distances. He broke the 2013 CIF Southern Section Division II record in the 200 freestyle by a second, which was previously held by Andrew Saeta who swam for Stanford.

National Competition
Coan is a former National Age Group Record Holder (15-16) in the 200 freestyle relay, and he was also named the 2013 Inland Valley Swimmer of the Year.
