Fort Lauderdale, FL – The American Swimming Coaches Association (ASCA) has announced the application period for the third year of the highly acclaimed ASCA Mentor Program is open! The deadline to apply to participate is July 31, 2023.  For this year’s cohort, the program begins in August 2023 and runs through May 2024.

Coaches of all ages and experience have raved about the ASCA Mentor Program.  Whether a newbie or mid-career or close to retirement, this program has proven to be inspiring and supportive for everyone involved.  The program groups a gold, silver and bronze (based on years of experience) coach in a triad that meets virtually once a month over 10 months.  At the beginning, middle and end of the 10 months, participants gather in virtual meetings led by leadership coach and ASCA partner Jeff Raker to share experiences and learn how to get the most out of the program.

Quotes from Coaches in the ASCA Mentor Program:

“It definitely made me a better coach.”  – Heather Colombatto

“You can be a first year or 20th year coach and you will learn something. I like that it challenged me to think about my philosophy and methods.” – Colin Kennedy

“The networking and community building is so important and helpful.” – Russell Mark

“It’s a great way to meet other coaches in the swimming community.”  – Lori Royal

“I think everyone can learn from fellow coaches.” – Lucas Curotto Ferreira

“One more added layer of support for coaches to avoid that burnout!” – Christian Riley

To apply for the 2023-2024 ASCA Mentor Program cohort, coaches must complete and submit an application no later than July 31, 2023. There is no cost for this program for ASCA members.

This program is only available to ASCA members in the U.S.  To learn more about the program and to apply or go to www.swimmingcoach.org.
