Maxine “Max” Catig, a current high school senior from Santa Clarita, CA, has committed to swim for D1 Boise State University. Catig will graduate from Hart High School in May 2020 and will join BSU’s class of 2024 under head coach Christine Mabile.
Catig, a 2018 and 2019 USA Swimming Scholastic All-Amercian, currently swims for the Canyons Aquatic Club. In April of 2019, Catig won the 100 backstroke (54.44 SCY) at the CA CIF Southern – D1 Section Championship for the biggest high schools in the greater Los Angeles area.

With her current best time in the 100 backstroke (54.44 SCY), Catig would have placed 8th last season at the Mountain West Conference Championships. This year at the MWC Championships, BSU placed 3rd as a team. In 2017 and 2018, BSU were team champions at that meet.
Catig will begin her swimming career at Boise State University beginning in the fall 2020.
