#9 Kyle Peck Makes Verbal Commitment to Texas for 2024-25

Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Fredericksburg, Virginia’s Kyle Peck has announced his verbal commitment to the University of Texas class of 2028. He told SwimSwam, β€œIt’s the perfect place, program, team and school for me to be able to fulfill my swim and academic dreams.” He is the third Peck brother to swim in the NCAA; Dylan Peck had a successful swimming career at George Mason University (Fairfax, VA), and Garrett Peck is a freshman on the men’s swim team at Marymount University (Arlington, VA).

Peck is our pick for #9 in the high school class of 2024. He is a junior at Chancellor High School and swims year-round with the Rappahannock Stingrays Swim Team (RAYS). At the 2022 VHSL Class 4 State Championships, the then-sophomore won the 100 back (48.13) and was runner-up in the 100 fly (48.50). The following month, he competed at NCSA Spring Championships and earned PBs in the 100 free (46.48), 200 fly (1:48.71), and 200 IM (1:49.92). He finaled in the 50 free (40th), 100 back (10th), 200 back (5th), 100 fly (14th), 200 fly (27th), and 200 IM (17th).

He kicked off long course season at Richmond Sectionals in May, logging personal bests in the 100 back (58.00), 200 back (2:06.07), 100 fly (56.46), and 200 fly (2:11.47). He won the 200 back and 100 fly. At the NCSA Summer Championships, he lowered his PBs in the 50 back (27.34), 100 back (57.47), 200 back (2:03.63), 50 fly (25.79), 100 fly (55.64), 200 fly (2:02.85), and 200 IM (2:08.88).

Peck is the Virginia Swimming LSC record-holder in the 100y back; he is and LSC champion in the 100/200 back and 100 fly.

Best SCY times:

  • 100 back – 47.24
  • 200 back – 1:44.48
  • 100 fly – 48.50
  • 200 fly – 1:48.71
  • 50 free – 20.87
  • 200 IM – 1:49.92

Texas is making a strong case for the top recruit class of the cohort. So far, the Longhorns will welcome to Austin in the fall of 2024: #2 Cooper Lucas, #6 Jeremy Kelly, Peck, #20 Luke Stibrich, and Max Hatcher (β€œBest of the Rest”).

I’m excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my athletic and academic endeavors at the University of Texas. I want to thank my family, friends, teachers as well as my coaches and teammates with the RAYS who have guided me along the way. Who knew this photo from when I was six months old would be so telling? Coach Eddie and Coach Wyatt and the team, I look forward to this exciting opportunity. Hook’em Horns🀘🏻
