3x MSHSAA State Champion Grant Sloan Verbally Commits to Wyoming

Grant Sloan, a senior at Kearney High School in Kearney, Missouri, has signed an NLI to swim for the University of Wyoming beginning in the 2018-19 season. He will join fellow commit Ryan Netzel in the class of 2022.

“I’m proud to announce my verbal commitment to swim for the University of Wyoming, Fall 2018.  WY had everything I was looking for in and out of the pool!  GO POKES!”

Sloan swims for his high school team under head coach Nathan Long, and for Club North Swimming in Kansas City under head coach Todd Harvey. A 2017 USA Swimming Scholastic All-American, Sloan became a three-time Missouri state champion when he won the 50 free (20.41), 100 breast (56.95), and 200 free relay at the recent 2017 MSHSAA Boys Swimming and Diving Class 1 State Championship.

After going best times in the 50/100 back and 50 breast with Club North Swimming at NCSA Spring Championship in March, Sloan had an outstanding long course season. He improved his times in the LCM 50/100/200 free, 50/100 back, 50/100/200 breast, and 50/100 fly. At 2017 USA Swimming Futures Championships in Lewisville he took third in the 50 free (24.09). This fall he has already swum lifetime bests in the 50/100 free, 100 breast, 50/100 fly, and 100 IM.
