The 2016 Art Adamson Invitation, which is hosted by Texas A&M, will be taking place this weekend. Action starts on Thursday, November 17th and concludes on Saturday, November 19th. Prelims each day will begin at 10:30 a.m. Eastern time, while finals start at 6:30 p.m. Eastern time.

The invite will feature teams from several conferences, including the SEC, Pac-12, AAC, and Big 12. On the women’s side, Texas A&M’s Sydney Pickrem, a 2016 Rio Olympian for Canada, will be headlining the IM events. Her teammate Bethany Galat, who narrowly missed making the U.S. Olympic team this past summer, will likely be a contender in those races as well. Last season, Pickrem and Galat finished 4th and 5th, respectively, in the 400 IM at the 2016 NCAA Championships.

On the men’s side, one of the swimmers to watch will be LSU freshman Sven Saemundsson. In his first season with the Tigers, Saemundsson has been a key player for the team in the distance freestyle races. We could see some fast swimming from him in his first-ever collegiate invite.

PARTICIPATING TEAMS:

  • Texas A&M
  • Boise State (women only)
  • Arizona State
