10 New Zealanders headed to Junior Pan Pacs in Maui

Following the announcement of its Pan Pacific Championships team yesterday, Swimming New Zealand has named its Junior Pan Pacs squad, tabbing 10 young swimmers to make the trek to Maui, Hawaii in two weeks.

The team features 8 boys and 2 girls, including Australian Youth Olympic festival medalists Bradlee Ashby and Grace Sommerville.

The team is made up of 8 pool swimmers with Sommerville and Liam Albery adding on as Open Water entrants. Junior Pan Pacs open on August 27th in Hawaii.

They must have been in contact with swimmers at senior meet. They had that swim off in the 100 fly on Sunday -winner to junior pan pac.

Has the USA’s Junior PanPac team been announced yet?

don – no. My guess is that they’re still waiting for the first round of yes or nos, and then will send out a second round of invites.

Surprised that Gabrielle Fa’amausili is on neither Pan Pacs roster, even if she is a stroke 50 specialist.
