Swim Job: YMCA of the Fox Cities seeks Aquatics Director

JOB DESCRIPTION

The YMCA of the Fox Cities is hiring an Aquatics Director at Fox West YMCA!

The Aquatics Director develops, organizes and implements high quality, member-focused YMCA aquatic programs.

Applicant will be responsible for:

YMCA LogoDirecting and supervising program activities to meet the needs of the community and fulfill YMCA objectives; developing and maintaining collaborative relationships with community organizations; recruiting, hiring, training, developing, scheduling and directing personnel and volunteers as needed; reviewing and evaluating staff performance; developing strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals, ensuring records of staff certifications are current and complete; monitoring daily pool operations to adhere to all state, local and YMCA health and safety regulations; conducting and ensuring proper maintenance of pools; securing and scheduling pool facilities; maintaining accurate records of pool chemical levels and facility maintenance; conducting lifeguarding, swim instruction, First Aid and CPR trainings; creating and scheduling swim classes ; assisting in the marketing and distribution of program information; developing and monitors program budget to meet fiscal objectives; assisting in YMCA fund raising activities and special events; modeling relationship-building skills in all interactions; responding to all member and community inquiries and complaints in timely manner; assisting with Program Committee meetings; compiling program statistics; and monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of and participation in program. Must be currently certified in lifeguard training, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, Lifeguard Instructor and WSI Instructor, First Aid, Progressive Instructor, YMCA or Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor.

Applicant must have a High School Diploma, however, a Bachelor’s degree is preferred. Must possess excellent communication skills. Strong organizational skills are necessary. Knowledge of budget development and management, training and supervisory skills and customer relations are essential. Must be self-motivated, self-directed.
