About Colorado College:

Colorado College (“CC”) is a private, four-year, highly selective liberal arts college of 2,300 undergraduate students and a small Master of Arts in teaching program. Summary Description:

The primary function of this position is to assist in the day-to-day operations of a highly competitive Division III program. Responsibilities for this position include leading, developing and coaching student-athletes, effectively teaching team and individual skills connected with team and player development. Recruit and retain prospective student athletes while adhering to the philosophy of Colorado College and appropriate NCAA Division III and Conference Rules. Assist Head Coach in administrative tasks to include travel coordination, equipment management, student athlete support as well as campus involvement and engagement through fund raising, alumni relations, clinics, and community service projects. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year institution plus a minimum of three years playing/coaching experience at the collegiate level; proficient in computer skills to include Microsoft Word, Excel, and basic knowledge scouting software, recruiting software, social media platforms and video editing software; proven ability to develop strong working relationships with people from different cultural backgrounds, including those associated with race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, socio-economic status, age, gender, disability, sexual orientation, and other aspects of human diversity; available to work evening and weekend hours and to travel extensively, often by airplane. Program Manager
Summary: In addition to leading skill-based swim and water safety instruction to people of all ages and abilities, the Program Manager is responsible for the daily operations at a specific location. This position serves as the head coach of New College of Florida swimming. This includes recruiting scholar athletes,
creating practice plans and executing team activities, scheduling competitions, and additional duties.

Examples of Duties
The Head Coach of swimming will be directly responsible for the recruitment
of student athletes specialized in swimming. The head coach is responsible
for maintaining academic recruiting standards, and recruiting athletes who fit
New College’s mission of creating the best Liberal Arts atmosphere in the
country.
The Head Coach of swimming will be responsible for the scheduling and
execution of all New College swimming practices, meet’s, and other team
activities. This includes coordinating schedules with opponents, scheduling
team practice times and facilities as needed, and coordinating rosters and
other information as necessary.
Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of appropriate coaching experience

Preferred Qualifications

Previous coaching experience at the intercollegiate level.

The Head Age Group Coach will help grow the base of our program by working alongside the Head
Coach developing our swimmers’ skills and athleticism while continuing to take Virginia Gators to new

 Administrative duties at the discretion of the Head Coach, included but not limited to meet
planning, travel planning, parent communications, meet entry submission, and billing.
 Attend all assigned age group practices and be available to attend scheduled swim meets per
Head Coach request
 Foster a positive, encouraging, and challenging atmosphere in which all swimmers, regardless of
ability, may improve their skills
 Maintain a positive and effective working environment while collaborating with other coaches,
board members, and parents. This includes regular communications to all parties about the age
group program.
 Work with the Head Coach to recruit new swimmers and schedule open house events
 Treat all swimmers with equal care and concern
 Always represent the Virginia Gators in a positive and professional manner and in accordance
with USA Swimming Code of Ethics and Conduct policies

    • 1-3 years’ experience coaching diving at the club, high school, or collegiate level, including 3-meter coaching experience.
    • Experience teaching new dives and techniques related to competitive diving.
    • Experience in analyzing diving performances and identifying areas needed for improvement.
    • Knowledge of current training methods of all aspects of competitive diving.
    • Knowledge of and ability to safely use a trampoline and spotting rig for training and instructive purposes.

The Hillsboro Swim Team, located in Hillsboro, Oregon, is searching for a Head Age Group Coach.  The club is a board-run, coach-led, non-profit organization that operates in a Hillsboro Parks and Recreation facility, utilizing both indoor and outdoor pools.  The team provides year-round, competitive swimming for ages 6 to young adult and currently has about 180 members.

 

Qualifications for applicants:

  • 2-3 years minimum, age group coaching experience.
  • Be in good standing on all USA Swimming coaching requirements prior to start date.
  • Energetic and passionate about teaching and developing an athlete’s stroke mechanics for long-term success.
  • Be a team player with the coaching staff in a collaborative effort to help each and every athlete within the program reach their own potential.

The Head Age Group Coach oversees the 12 and Under program, typically working with two different practice squads daily.  They also help to guide and collaborate with assistant coaches that work with other 12 and Under squads within the program.

 

Other areas of responsibility include but are not limited to:

  • Write and implement swimming and dryland practices for assigned squads, considering technique development and appropriate seasonal training and progressions.
  • Coach on-deck 6 days a week for approximately 4 hours per day.
  • Attend swim meets as assigned by the Head Coach: typically, 1-2 a month.
  • Help set meet schedule for all applicable 12 and Under athletes.
  • Complete meet entries for assigned squads and other administrative duties as needed.

 

Compensation will be an annual salary commensurate with experience.
