Discovery Canyon HS Trio -Lawrie, Donehower and Augustino- Sign NLIs to Air Force, Marymount and CSM

Discovery Canyon High School seniors Blake Lawrie, Jonathan Donehower and James Augustino have each signed NLIs to continue their swimming careers at the collegiate level in 2015-16. Discovery Canyon, a 4A high school in Colorado Springs, Colorado, is coached by David Burgess.

Blake Lawrie: United States Air Force Academy

Lawrie, who also swims at Rocky Mountain Rapids, holds the DCHS school record in the 200 free (1:47.47) and is on the record-holding 200 medley relay (1:36.88) and 400 free relay (3:12.12) teams. He is a solid 50/100 freestyler and 100/200 backstroker who had made significant progress during his high school career:

Jonathan Donehower: Colorado School of Mines

Donehower is the school record-holder in the 200 IM (1:59.30), 500 free (5:54.90), and 100 breast (1:02.06) and is on the record-holding 200 medley, 200 free and 400 free relay teams. Donehower is a nice IMer, with a good breast and solid strokes all the way around. He also enjoys distance freestyle, where he has made tremendous improvements during his prep years. Donehower, who trains at Altitude Performance Swim Team, is shooting for a spot on the 4 x 200 free relay team at Mines.

James Augustino: Marymount University (VA)

A relative newcomer to swimming, Augustino concentrates mostly on backstroke and freestyle. His club team is Rocky Mountain Rapids, and while he has improved quite a bit over the last three years, Augustino is poised to continue to get big drops in college:
