Jenna Maloy from Durham, North Carolina has announced her verbal commitment to Georgia Southern University in Statesboro for the 2021-22 school year and beyond.
“I chose [Georgia Southern] because I really loved the campus, the close family aspect of the team, and the wonderful coaches. I can’t wait to be an Eagle next year!”
Maloy is a senior at Durham’s Riverside High School. She swims year-round for YMCA of the Triangle Area (YOTA) and specializes in butterfly, breaststroke, and IM. Maloy qualified in the 100 fly for the North Carolina NCHSAA Class 4A State Championships last season and came in 23rd in prelims with a time of 59.52. Her best time in the 100 fly dates from December of 2019 when she placed 19th in finals at the 27th Annual Arena Capital Classic. She also finaled in the 200 fly (6th). She recently notched a PB in the 200 fly at an intrasquad meet in August.

- 200 breast – 2:25.55
- 100 fly – 57.76
- 200 fly – 2:07.89
- 200 IM – 2:09.65
- 400 IM – 4:43.53
Maloy will be an immediate-impact player when she arrives in Statesboro. She would have been #2 in the 100 breast, 200 breast, 100 fly, and 200 IM on last year’s Georgia Southern roster. She also would have been the third-fastest 200 flyer and 400 IMer. The Eagles finished 8th at last year’s CCSA Championships, where Maloy would have scored in the B finals of the 200 breast and 200 fly and the C finals of the 100 breast, 100 fly, and 200/400 IM.
