The Williams foursome of Oliver Schalet, Carter Anderson, Harrison Williams, and Ryan Nunez shaved 12.22 seconds off the entry time en route to the pool record time of 6:31.93. The Ephs claimed the NESCAC title in the event for the 17th time since 2001.
Tufts was the runner-up with an NCAA B-cut time of 6:35.74. The Conn. College Camels placed third and also posted an NCAA B-cut time (6:38.48). Conn’s leadoff swimmer senior Justin Finkel was strong off the blocks registering an NCAA A-cut time and the top 200 freestyle time in Division III (1:35.57).
The NESCAC Men’s Swimming & Diving Championships continue on Friday. The morning prelim swims begin at 10 a.m. and the diving trials will start at 2 p.m. The evening finals are set for 6 p.m.
