200 fly no. 200 free yes. 200 medley would require a schedule change.

lets see what they ( Troy & Dressel ) choose to make him swim before Tokyo – there are a few serious meets to be happening before 2020 .

No. Caeleb is not Michael Phelps. Why would he be swimming a 200 fly. ☺

Amazing. Still. Millions of years of evolution have created such an amazing athlete and it has come to this Dressel..The first swimmers, trilobites from the Cambrian period 520 million years ago, would be proud…. Thanks for the stellar analysis SwimSwam. It was riveting..

If there’s one thing that I wish would be a more commonplace staple in handheld swimming videos, it’s keeping the camera on the swimmers for their reactions to the time. The scoreboard shot is fine after the fact – and the time will last forever on Hytek, MeetMobile, or wherever results are printed out elsewhere – but the reactions to these swims are priceless, and should be lasting images for the swimming community to enjoy.

Just my two cents – I will say it is great to have an HD version of the race itself, though.

Let’s hope that isn’t the only good version of the 17.63 swim. That kid’s voice… ugh.

Seeing him swim in person was the best thing that happened to be since I started swimming. Watching it on tv or a stream is one thing, actually seeing him in a pool, a pool I swim in, was another. The pool records just got a lot harder.

$15 was a steal to get into this meet

I still cannot get over the pure joy in his reaction after the 100 fly. And i can bet that he hasn’t even looked at his time, all of that joy is solely because he and Jan went 1-2 and he saw a 44.3 next to Jan’s name.I’m sure he looked at his 42.8 a bit after but all that emotion is for his team mate and i cant get over how awesome that is! It’s is the first thing he is looking for after a race that he has won by over a body length!

Is there a video of his 17.81 with his reaction? All we see is the next relay swimmer, I would’ve liked to see his reaction to the first 17, maybe a video from the crowd instead of B1G?

As one of the media personnel there, here’s my best guess: if there’s nothing from one of the major swimming outlets, there was a local television station at the meet covering Dressel – talking with his parents between sessions Friday morning – but I didn’t get a chance to see their station identification. My assumption would be that they had an iso-shot of him after his finals swims, so if you can do some digging for local television stations, you might be able to find a good shot of it! But there’s also a good chance they decided not to use that footage as soon as he went 17.6 in A-Final.

I was at the meet for it, He honestly didn’t have much of a reaction, he just hopped out of the water super fast
