After the opening round six swimmers remained on the women’s side, with Caroline Baldwin and Hellen Moffitt knocked out early. Madison Kennedy (24.88) was the quickest in the first heat.

Women’s Second Round

  1. Margo Geer, 25.01
  2. Madison Kennedy, 25.24
  3. Lia Neal, 25.32
  4. Farida Osman, 25.39
  5. Kelsi Dahlia, 25.52
  6. Arianna Vanderpool-Wallace, 25.58

Margo Geer added just a few one hundredths to her opening round swim to take over top spot in round two, putting up a time of 25.01. Kennedy added nearly four tenths to her initial swim, but still got through easily in 2nd with a 25.24. Lia Neal (25.32) and Farida Osman (25.39) rounded out the four finalists.

Kelsi Dahlia, who made it through to the final each of the past two years, and Arianna Vanderpool-Wallace, who won the 2016 event (competed SCY), were eliminated in this round. Dahlia was 25.52 for 5th, and Vanderpool-Wallace (25.58) back in 6th.

Of the four remaining finalists, Geer has been the fastest this season (24.78), while Kennedy (24.34) holds the fastest PB.
