Karien Jonckheere captured the press conference today where Swimming South Africa CEO Shaun Adriannse discussed the ongoing problems with the pool in Port Elizabeth, where this week the South African National Championships and World Championship Trials have been delayed twice due to dastardly conditions of the water.

It is beyond mere incompetence that the Swimming SA cannot get corporate sponsorships after the brilliance of Le Clos and VD Burg in London.
I mean, how could it be? Le Clos inflicted a most improbable (and last) defeat of Phelps and they can’t get sponsor for the association?
Makes me wonder how much more successful Schoeman, Van der Burgh, Le Clos, etc. could be…
As long as South African swimming has people in charge like Shaun Adriannse, South Africa Swimming will continue to tread water and facilities will continue to worsen!!
It is testament to the ATHLETES and COACHES that SA has had huge success in international swimming and NOT to the upper level administrators that have absolutely NO clue has to manage an organization.
SA swimming needs better leadership and the parents, coaches and athletes and SA public need to push to get these cronies OUT of swimming!
