In 2008, after his incredible 8 gold medal performance at the Olympics, Michael Phelps was honored as the host of NBC’s long-running sketch show Saturday Night Live. Ryan Lochte’s two gold medals apparently gets him only a brief appearance in the form of a spoof on the “Weekend Update” faux-news segment.
It was a pretty funny one though, as Family Guy creator Seth McFarlane, the host for the night, played Lochte previewing the fall prime-time TV Lineup.
So NBC uses Lochte to promote their Olympics coverage, then when they are over makes fun of him. Hmmmm…..
