There was an elite competition that unfolded from The Hague within the Netherlands over the weekend as the 2025 Blue Marlins Qualification concluded with World Championships bids on the line.
20-year-old Milou van Wijk continued her momentum from racing earlier this year, firing off winning results in both the women’s 50m free and 100m free to make her presence known.
In the splash n’ dash, van Wijk stopped the clock at a time of 24.55 to register the sole sub-25-second time of the field. The Dutch ace’s result was just a hair outside her lifetime best of 24.48 notched for gold at last month’s Edinburgh International Meet. That prior outing ranks her #3 in the world this season.
