The 2020 USA Swimming Convention officially kicks off on Thursday. While the format this year will be all-online, the same nuts-and-bolts pieces of a typical convention, including elections, meetings, and voting on proposed rules changes, will still be there.
Thursday evening will include a Keynote Speaker, retired US Navy Captain Chris Lindsay, the author of the book “Thriving in Adversity – A Performance Enhancing Mindset”.
This year’s virtual convention is free for all attendees this year, and many of the meetings, including one on the topic of the new Healthcare Benefits for Coaches program being offered by USA Swimming, are open to all registered participants of Convention.
This will also offer an opportunity for non-delegates to peek inside of the House of Delegates meeting, which has historically been a bit of a black box to outsiders of the sport.
Some of the pre-convention meetings of specific committees have already been underway this week, and some of these meetings’ recordings will be available online.
