I am so excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at Auburn University. I want to thank all my coaches, family and friends that have helped me along the way. This is such a dream. War eagle🦅 !!”

Sierra swims for Azura Florida Aquatics (AZFA) out of Davie, Florida. At the end of April, Sierra broke the Uruguayan national record in the long course 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:12.13. At the same meet, she also earned a best time in the long course 200 breaststroke (2:34.27).

This fall, she notched best times in both the short course yards 100 (1:03.25) and 200 (2:15.57) breaststrokes.

In November, she competed at the first ever multi-sport JuniorPan American Games (which included athletes 22 and younger in swimming). There, she served as a flag bearer for the Uruguayan delegation. At the meet, Sierra earned a sixth place finish in the long course 200 breaststroke (2:36.41). She also earned an 11th place finish in the 100 breaststroke (1:14.43).

Her best long course times (with SCY conversions from the SwimSwam converter) and short course yards times are:

  • 100 breaststroke: 1:03.25
  • 200 breaststroke: 2:15.57
  • 200 IM: 2:05.67

Auburn University is a public university located in Auburn, Alabama. Former Houston head coach and Auburn alumnus, Ryan Wochomurka, is in his first season with the team. The team will attempt to rebuild after they scored 0 points and had 0 qualifiers at the 2021 NCAA Championships.

The Auburn women finished ninth out of 12 teams at the 2021 SEC Championships. Sierra is just off what it took to score at the meet, where it took times of 1:01.48 in the 100 breaststroke and 2:13.42 in the 200 breaststroke.

Auburn’s breaststroke group is currently led by 5th-year swimmer Carly Cummings. Current senior Valeria Tazari and current sophomore Brynn Curtis also are primary breaststrokers. Sierra will overlap two years with Curtis (three if Curtis elects to take her COVID-19 fifth year).

Sierra will arrive on campus next fall as a member of the class of 2026 along with backstroker Kyla Maloney, breaststroker Ainsley Jones, and butterfliers Carly Sebring, Morgan Gore, and Casey Cullen. Jones holds best times of 1:02.41 in the 100 and 2:12.80 in the 200 breaststrokes. Sierra and Jones will look to improve together and make an impact at the conference level and beyond.
