TYR Sport Raises Over $50,000 For Breast Cancer Research

This week, TYR Sport, the leading manufacturer of competitive swim and triathlon gear, welcomed members of the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF) to their showroom for an annual check presentation of over $50,000 in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

For the past three years, TYR has designed a oneofakind, coed collection of apparel and equipment specifically dedicated to fighting breast cancer. With every purchase of a TYR Pink product, $1.00$5.00 is donated directly to BCRF. To date, TYR has contributed a total of over $250,000 to the organization.

Since 1993, BCRF funded investigators have been deeply involved in every major breakthrough in breast cancer prevention, diagnosis, treatment and survivorship. BCRF supports the brightest minds in medicine, enabling them to advance research and develop new approaches to conquer all aspects of breast cancer.

“We could not be more honored to continue our partnership with the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. The work provided by the team at BCRF is not only incredible, but it is truly humbling. To know that our products are helping in that process is very powerful,”

—Matt DiLorenzo, chief executive officer of TYR Sport

About the Breast Cancer Research Foundation

Founded by Evelyn H. Lauder in 1993, the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF) advances the world’s most promising research to eradicate breast cancer. BCRF has raised more than $570 million to fuel discoveries in tumor biology, genetics, prevention, treatment, survivorship and metastasis, making it one of the largest nongovernmental funders of breast cancer research in the world. In 2015, BCRF will award $48.5 million to support 240 researchers at leading medical institutions worldwide. By spending 91 cents of every dollar on research and public awareness programs, BCRF remains one of the nation’s most fiscally responsible nonprofits. BCRF is the only breast cancer organization with an “A+” from CharityWatch, as well as Charity Navigator’s highest rating of four stars 13 times since 2002.
