Towson, Md – The Towson University swimming and diving teams hosted conference rivals the Drexel Dragons for senior day on Saturday. The men’s team fell to the Dragons 174-126, while the women won by a score of 168.67-125.33.

How it happened (Women):
- The team of Martina Ciriesi, Tiffany Matulis, Riley Willett and Claire Ryland won the 200 Medley Relay with a time of 1:44.76.
- Addie Scott took gold in the 200 Free posting a time of 1:51.53.
- Matulis (1:06.17), Tink Tompkins (1:06.57) and Ellie Newman (1:06.62) swept the podium in the 100 Breast.
- There was a three-way tie for first place in the 50 Free at 23.61, Ryland and Marissa Kleckner were two of the three.
- Newman (2:24.33) and Matulis (2:25.55) claimed the top two spots in the 200 Breast.
- Bjartey Gudmundsdottir, Scott, Kleckner and Ryland closed out the women’s meet with a 400 Free Relay win with a time of 3:29.58.
How it happened (Men):
- Sam Tennell won the 3 meter dive with a score of 314.93.
- Aidan Clark scored 290.10 to win the 1 meter dive.
- Anthony Mortellite won the 1000 Free with a time of 9:43.83.
- Sean Colson took first in the 200 Back with a time of 1:48.07.
- Colson finished second in the 100 Back with a time of 49.88 and also finished second in the 200 IM (1:54.84).
- Geoffrey Cradock (57.42) and Kirill Pankov (57.74) placed second and third respectively in the 100 Breast. Pankov also placed third in the 200 Breast.

TOWSON, MD – The Drexel women’s swimming and diving team dropped their first meet of the season, falling to Towson 168.66- 123.33.
Harper Barrowman won the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:27.77 and the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:02.12. Megan Ehrnfeldt won the 200-yard butterfly in 2:05.72 and the 100-yard butterfly in 56.00. Mari Alencar won the 50-yard freestyle in 23.61 and the 100-yard freestyle in 51.94. Federica Nocera won the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 56.31, the 200-yard backstroke in 2:01.08, and the 200-yard individual medley in 2:08.93.
The 200-yard medley relay team of Nocera, Ali Bragg, Ehrnfeldt, and Alencar finished second with a time of 1:46.10. Brittany Corbett placed second in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:54.50. Aldercy Bui placed second in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 57.64. The 400-yard freestyle relay team of Barrowman, Audrey Le-Nguyen, Hannah Charters, and Emma Pillich placed second with a time of 3:35.59.
Barrowman finished third in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:55.15. Elizabeth McDevitt placed third in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:09.52 and the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 57.60. Bragg finished third in the 200-yard breaststroke in 2:25.63. Corbett placed third in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:05.97.
The Dragons will have some time off before hosting Arcadia on February

TOWSON, MD- The Drexel men’s swimming and diving team improves to 5-0 on the season, defeating Towson 174-126.
The Drexel men’s swimming and diving team earned multiple victories, led by the 200-yard medley relay team of Dimi Gkelis, Bartosz Loter, Jakub Kwasny, and Sebastian Smith, who won with a time of 1:29.60. Reds Rullis claimed first in the 200-yard freestyle (1:41.05) and 500-yard freestyle (4:37.00), while Smith won the 50-yard freestyle (19.84) and 100-yard freestyle (43.66). Gkelis took the 100-yard backstroke (49.51), and Loter added wins in the 100-yard breaststroke (56.71) and 200-yard breaststroke (2:05.71). Kwasny earned first in the 200-yard butterfly (1:52.53) and 100-yard butterfly (47.75). The 400-yard freestyle relay team of Rullis, Wade, Kwasny, and Smith finished first in 3:02.15.
Second-place finishes came from Joshua Gratton in the 1-meter (239.18) and 3-meter diving (275.85), Kaan Akdag in the 1000-yard freestyle (9:50.08), and Petar Pavalic in the 50-yard freestyle (20.54) and 200-yard backstroke (1:49.32). Third-place performances included Grady Potter in the 1000-yard freestyle (9:55.57), Alessio Gianni in the 200-yard freestyle (1:43.33), and the 400-yard freestyle relay team of Casini, Piccolo, Karnik, and Pavalic (3:09.53).
The Dragons will host Villanova on January 31st at 3:00pm.
