Headed into semifinals, Ceccon is tied with American Caeleb Dressel for the second seed. They are both 0.01 seconds behind Dylan Carter, the fastest swimmer from prelims. Codia was also in this race, tied at 16th with Polish swimmer Konrad Czerniak at 23.53. They will need a swim-off to determine who will qualify for the semifinals.
Later this session, Ceccon will also be swimming the preliminary heats of the men’s 4×100 free relay. He is also set to swim in the 50 and 100 back further along in the meet.
Did he take it easy in the relay?
Hopefully this means good things for his backstrokes, as per muh pick’ems. He’s the only non-American that I could talk myself into placing high.
