Texas A&M Adds Scottsdale Breaststroker/IMer Blakely Schuricht for 2022

Scottsdale Aquatic Club’s Blakely Schuricht has verbally committed to Texas A&M’s class of 2026. She’s a junior at Chaparral High School, a prep swimming powerhouse in Arizona.

I am incredibly excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at Texas A&M University. I want to thank my family, coaches, and friends for helping me get here. I also want to thank God for this opportunity. I can’t wait to be a part of such an amazing group of people. Gig’em!!!

Schuricht is a breaststroker/IMer, a combo that the Aggie program has been known to develop in droves under the Steve Bultman-led coaching staff (think Bethany Galat, Sydney Pickrem, Sycerika McMahon to name a few).

At the 2020 Arizona HS State Div. I Champs, which ran in timed finals, Schuricht placed third in the 100 breast (1:04.58) and sixth in the 200 IM (2:06.15). She also finished runner-up in the 100 breast at the meet in 2019. Most of her best times are from December, where she hit PRs in the 200 breast, both IMs and the 500 free.

This past season, Schuricht would’ve been #4 on the Aggie roster in the 200 breast.

Schuricht joins Manita Sathianchokwisan, Hadley Beeson and Sarah Lankford in Texas A&M’s class of 2026 on the women’s side.
