Arizona State has picked up in-state sprinter Christian Osterndorf from Rio Salado Swim Club.
I am excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my swimming career in division one at Arizona State University! I truly believe everything happens for a reason and I would like to thank everyone for helping me get to where I am today. As well as a special thanks to Coach Bowman and Coach Behm for this amazing opportunity. I will be taking advantage of ASU’s amazing education and athletic programs to further myself as a person. Forks Up!

Osterndorf, a rising senior at Campo Verde High School in Gilbert, AZ, finished third in the 100 free and fourth in the 50 free at the 2019 AIA Division II State Championships. He also anchored their title-winning 200 medley relay (20.59) and was 45.61 anchoring their runner-up 400 free relay.
Two days later, he was third in the 50 and fourth in the 100 at the 2019 AIA Meet of Champions. In late winter, at the 2020 Arizona Senior Champs, Osterndorf clocked lifetime bests in the 50 free (20.42) and 100 free (45.71), winning the Senior Champs title in the 50 and taking third in the 100.
ASU will graduate top sprinters Carter Swift and Evan Carlson after next season, leaving a sizable gap in their sprint group.
Osterndorf joins his club teammate and high school classmate, Jeremy Graunke, in verbally committing to ASU. Also part of the Sun Devils’ class of 2025 are Emilio Perez and Ethan Hansen.
