Another South Shore Sails Swimmer, Seth Reno, Commits to Texas A&M for 2021-22

Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Seth Reno from League City, Texas, has made a verbal commitment to Texas A&M University’s class of 2025. Reno is a junior at Clear Falls High School. He swims year-round for South Shore Sails. He joins his club and high school teammate Clayton Conklin, who committed last week, as a member of the A&M men’s recruiting class.

“I’m so excited and grateful to announce my verbal commitment to further my academic and swimming career at Texas A&M. I’d like to say thank you to all my teammates, family, friends, and coaches who have helped me get to this point in my swimming career! Gig ‘em”

Reno placed 3rd in the 100 free (44.57) and 5th in the 50 free (20.70) at this year’s Texas UIL 6A State Swimming and Diving Meet after having won both events at Districts and Regionals. Two weeks later he competed at College Station Sectionals (SCY in prelims, LCM in finals) and notched PBs in the SCY 200 free, 100 back, and 100 fly and the LCM 50 free, 100 free, 200 free, and 100 fly. Reno swam the 50/100 free at Winter Juniors West in December and the 100 back and 100 fly in time trials.

Reno will suit up with fellow verbal commits Clayton Conklin, Munzy Kabbara, Trey Dickey, and Tyler Hulet in College Station in the fall of 2021. It took 19.77/43.38/1:35.71 to score in the freestyle events at 2020 SEC Championships. He will overlap with Aggie sprinters Clayton Bobo, Shaine Casas, Kaloyan Bratanov, Alberto Gomez, and Peter Simmons.

Top SCY times:

  • 50 free – 20.29
  • 50 free relay split – 19.53
  • 100 free – 44.17
  • 200 free – 1:41.10
  • 100 fly – 49.20
  • 100 back – 50.16
