Sarah Brown Has Committed to Queens University of Charlotte

Fitter and Faster Swim Camps is the proud sponsor of SwimSwam’s College Recruiting Channel and all commitment news. For many, swimming in college is a lifelong dream that is pursued with dedication and determination. Fitter and Faster is proud to honor these athletes and those who supported them on their journey.

Sarah Brown, a current high school junior from Woodstock, Georgia, has committed to swim for Division II Queens University of Charlotte. Brown will graduate from River Ridge High School in spring 2021 and join Queens’ class of 2025.

Brown is a current swimmer for Chattahoochee Swim Club. Earlier this year at the 2020 GHSA 6-7A State Championships, Brown placed 4th in both the 200 IM (2:04.76) and 100 breaststroke (1:04.08).  She is also a Futures and Junior National qualifier.

“It is with great royal’s pride that I announce my verbal commitment to swim for Queens University of Charlotte!! I have never been so excited for anything in my life, and I cannot wait to continue my academic and athletic career at this amazing school. I know Queens is going to be a great fit and I’m so grateful for this opportunity. Lastly I want to thank my coaches, teammates, friends, and family that have helped and supported me along the way throughout my swimming career💙💙 #royalspride #committedsw

This year at the 2020 Bluegrass Mountain and Conference Carolinas Championships, Brown would have had multiple finals performances and would have been a great asset to the Royals with her current best times. Most notably, she would have placed 2nd in the 200 breaststroke (2:16.44) and 8th in both the 200 backstroke (2:04.37) and the 200 IM (2:04.76).

Her best time in the 200 breaststroke would have made her the Royals’ fastest 200 breaststroke swimmer at the meet.

Top SCY Times

  • 100 freestyle – 53.28
  • 200 backstroke – 2:04.37
  • 100 breaststroke – 1:04.08
  • 200 breaststroke – 2:16.44
  • 200 IM – 2:04.76
  • 400 IM – 4:34.18

At the Blue Grass Mountain and Conference Carolina’s Championships earlier this year, the Royals were the team champions for the 6th year in a row—nearly 200 points ahead of the second place team. The Queens women are the 5-time defending NCAA Division II Champions, though their chance at a 6th straight was interrupted by the coronavirus panedmic cancelling competition mid-meet.
