NEWARK, DE– The last time the Rider men’s swimming and diving team had lost a dual meet, it was to the hands of Delaware and La Salle in Newark two years ago this week. This afternoon, the Broncs exacted revenge with convincing wins over both squads.
Junior Zack Molloy (Toms River/Toms River HS North) topped his 2014 showing by collecting three wins in the 100 free (46.10), 200 free (1:39.44), and in the 400 free relay with sophomore Vincent Gibbons (North Brunswick), and seniors Matthan-Matthew Martir(Severn, MD/Old Mill) and older brother William Molloy(Toms River/Toms River HS North) with a time of 3:05.87.
For the women, the performance of the day came from freshman diver Meg Tomayko (Murfreesboro, TN/Siegel), who won the 1m dive (227.35). Sophomore Breanne Hatter (Lincroft/Middletown HS South) finished second in the 3m dive (222.20). Redshirt freshman swimmer Natalie Carter (Yucaipa, CA/Yucaipa) finished second in the 200 free (1:58.91) and 200 back (2:07.78).
Freshman Justin Carey (Landenberg, PA/Avon Grove) continued his standout freshman campaign by winning the 100 back (49.46), 200 back (1:49.70), 100 butterfly (49.45), and teaming up with Gibbons, Martir, and senior Zach Mabin (Hamilton/Steinert) to take the 200 medley relay (1:33.37).
Senior Sam Cramer (Escondido, CA/San Pasqual) claimed stake in the 500 free (4:40.69) and 1000 free (9:33.08). Freshman Cole May (Columbia, MD/Oakland Mills) won the 200 butterfly (1:54.59) by a hair over sophomore Griffin Hutton (Hamilton/Hamilton HS West), who finished with a time of 1:54.85. Sophomore Joseph Warker (Reading, PA/Wilson) took a close second in the 1m dive (251.55) while sophomore Lucas Musselman (Timonium, MD/Loyola Blakefield) took second in the 100 back (51.71) and 200 IM (1:55.84).
The swimming and diving teams return to action in Providence, Rhode Island when they will tackle the Bruno Invite hosted by Brown University of the Ivy League from December 2-4. The other schools competing at the event are Dartmouth, Route 206 rival Princeton, and New Jersey stalwart Rutgers.

NEWARK, Del. — It was mixed results for the University of Delaware men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams Saturday in their tri-meet with Rider and La Salle at the Rawstrom Natatorium.
The Delaware women (3-5) posted a pair of victories with wins of 204-87 over Rider and 182-110 over La Salle while the Blue Hen men (1-5) were upended by scores of 181-106 against Rider and 177-121 vs. La Salle.
The Blue Hen women captured 11 first place finishes and nine second place showings while the Delaware men had two first place finishes and five runner-up postings.
Mina Feyrer and Jordan Sawyer led the Delaware women with three first place finishes each as Feyrer won the 100 butterfly (57.71) and 200 butterfly (2:07.81) and Sawyer captured the 50 freestyle (24.55) and 100 freestyle (53.51). The pair joined Alyssa Santangelo and Madeline Maher in winning the 200 medley relay in 1:48.58. Also winning multiple events for Delaware was Sarah Braatz in the 500 freestyle (5:08.06) and 1,000 freestyle (10:31.41).
Patrick Savidge was the top performer for the Delaware men as he won both the 200 breaststroke (2:07.62) and 200 individual medley (1:54.43) and placed second in the 100 breaststroke. Tomas Elder had two second place finishes with runner-up showings in the 400 freestyle relay (3:08.36) and 50 freestyle (21.51).
Both Delaware teams will continue action Nov. 18-20 at the Franklin & Marshall Winter Invitational in Lancaster, Pa.

NEWARK, Del. – The La Salle Men’s Swimming & Diving team split its tri-meet with Atlantic 10 teams Delaware and Rider on Saturday, defeating the Blue Hens 177-121 and falling to the Broncs 175-122.
Dimitrije Mladenovic placed first in the 100 breast at 58.26, just a fraction of a second ahead of second place. Mladenovic also placed third in the 200 breast later in the day.
Sam Odtallah came in first in the 50 free (21.33 seconds) to grab nine points for the Explorers.
In the diving events, Dylan Yurasits placed first in the 1 meter. His final score of 252.45 narrowly edged second place. Blake Griffith placed second in the 3 meter.
Head Coach Jamie Platt‘s team will hit the pool again on November 22 in a meet with Penn at Kirk Pool.
